JPE Group was engaged by Transport for NSW as Technical Project Manager for the development and delivery of the Get NSW Active Program within the City of Sydney. This role involved client-side management of a portfolio of grant-funded active transport projects delivered in complex inner-city environments, including the:
JPE’s role included overseeing project development and delivery interfaces between Transport for NSW, the City of Sydney, designers and operational stakeholders, within a tightly controlled funding and approvals environment. Services included coordination of project teams, subject matter experts and internal technical stakeholders; support to Council in obtaining reviews and approvals of design and development documentation; preparation of status reporting for executives and stakeholders; and establishment and facilitation of technical and management meetings and workshops to support efficient project progression.
JPE also managed approval and governance processes associated with the program, including development of the TfNSW and City of Sydney Approval in Principle framework and support for assessment of traffic and transport impacts on key road corridors. The role required disciplined management of scope, delivery sequencing, stakeholder requirements, cost considerations and risk across multiple concurrent workstreams in constrained urban settings.
The program involved significant coordination across state and local government stakeholders, transparent reporting, proactive issue resolution, and maintenance of alignment between design intent, funding obligations and construction outcomes. JPE’s involvement supported delivery certainty, programme governance and effective management of complex urban interfaces.
